Plans
Katado is priced by the size of your service estate, not by how many people look at it. Everyone on your team can use every plan — the new joiner, the person on call, the manager who wants the scorecard. A catalog is only worth something when everyone opens it, so charging per seat would tax the exact behaviour the product exists to create.
The plans
| Plan | Services | Monthly | Annual |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | 10 | R0 | R0 |
| Team | 50 | R499 | R4,990 |
| Business | 250 | R2,499 | R24,990 |
Annual billing is two months free. Larger than 250 services, or need something not listed here — talk to us.
What each includes
Free — enough to catalogue a real team
Ten services, unlimited people, up to three teams and three environments. Catalog sync from your repositories and service scorecards are both included, because they are what the product is for: an account that could only import half its estate would never see the number that makes the catalog worth opening.
Health checks and community support. Incident management, runbooks and API access are on the paid plans.
Team — R499/month
Fifty services. Unlimited people, teams and environments. Everything in Free, plus incident management, runbooks, monitoring and alerts, full API access and email support.
Business — R2,499/month
Two hundred and fifty services, everything in Team, plus audit log export and priority support.
Single sign-on is not available yet. It is the next thing being built for this tier, and we would rather say so than list it and take your money for it.
When your estate outgrows a plan
Katado refuses the service that would take you over the limit, with the
numbers in the message, rather than accepting it and quietly degrading
something later. You will see a 402 with the limit and your current count.
If an account is over its limit — usually after a downgrade — the newest services are frozen first, on the reasoning that what you have been running longest is what you are most likely to still depend on. A frozen service stays in the catalog and stays readable; it cannot be edited until there is room. Upgrading restores them in reverse, oldest first.
History
Health check results expire on a schedule — they are the highest-volume thing Katado stores and the least useful once they are old. Everything else in the catalog is kept for as long as your account exists, on every plan.
Currency
Prices are in South African Rand. If you need to be invoiced in another currency, that is an Enterprise conversation rather than a checkout one.
